Digital SAT Math: What You Need to Know
The official Digital SAT Math structure, timing, and topic areas — explained clearly, without the fluff.
The Digital SAT Math section is one of two sections on the exam (alongside Reading & Writing). It's computer-adaptive across two modules, calculator use is allowed throughout, and it leans more on real-world, data-driven problems than older paper SAT formats.
Structure & timing
- Math is delivered in two modules, adaptive based on your performance in Module 1.
- Total Math time is 70 minutes across both modules, with roughly 44 questions.
- Most questions are multiple choice; a portion are student-produced response (grid-in) questions.
What's tested
- Algebra — linear equations, systems, and inequalities.
- Advanced Math — nonlinear equations, functions, and their graphs.
- Problem-Solving & Data Analysis — ratios, percentages, and real-world data interpretation.
- Geometry & Trigonometry — area, volume, lines, angles, and right-triangle trig.
